Today Ravine Foundation team led by Founder, Madam Gladys Mkamburi visited residents of Mukuru Kayaba slums, Nairobi in South B where they distributed foodstuffs to underprivileged members of the community. Among them, the elderly people, needy children and their families as well as people living with disabilities.
Ravine Foundation recognizes the needs of vulnerable families across the country and has dedicated its efforts to assist them to cope up with the downturns of COVID-19 pandemic.
Speaking during the exercise, the Founder Ravine Foundation Madam Gladys said that it was necessary to reach out to those families to sustain them during this drastic moment. She urged residents to embrace love, peace and unity to one another as well as live in harmony and in sharing with each other. She added that this programme will continue in other areas within Nairobi targeting the very needy families. She called upon government and other development partners including charity organizations to step in to boost their efforts to reach the larger number of families which are less privileged in the communities.
“Over 140 bags of foodstuffs have been distributed today. We’re happy to be joined by Doshi Group which has greatly supported our program aimed at impacting lives to the people,” said Madam Gladys Mkamburi, the Founder Ravine Foundation Kenya.
Families which benefited from the programme couldn’t hide their tears of joy when they thanked Madam Gladys and the entire team for choosing to reach them. They complained of the high cost of living which had rendered them into perpetual poverty. They wished God’s blessings to the entire team for coming up with such a programme to rescue them from absolute hunger.
Delegates at the event got an opportunity to pledge support to Ravine Foundation Kenya. They also got an opportunity to learn more about Ravine Foundation Kenya’s charity support programmes which includes: Elderly Program, Children Orphanages, Street Families Support, Persons Living With Disabilities, and Youth Empowerment Program.
Ravine Foundation team was accompanied by Doshi Group of Companies and Trufoods Limited who also donated their foodstuffs and pledged more support to the organization in impacting to the people’s lives. They also called upon other agencies to be a part of the team in the journey of helping the underprivileged members of the communities.
Recent similar distributions took place at Githogoro slums where over 150 households benefited; the event that involved SHOFCO Group as major partners.
Those in attendance also had the opportunity to learn about charity activities that Ravine Foundation Kenya is implementing in the vulnerable communities to provide dignity to the less fortunate. Approximately over 140 households under Ravine Foundation Kenya’s Food Charity Support Program of at Mukuru Kayaba slums, Nairobi benefited from the foodstuffs distributed today.
